For thirty years consecutive, the Virginia Steins have defeated the Maryland Steins in their annual family softball game. In game number thirty-one, the Maryland Steins find themselves on the brink of victory, until a tragic error by ten-year-old Henry Stein (Sam Semenza, “The Sopranos”) costs them the game.

On the heels of that heartbreaking defeat, Maryland Stein patriarch Mike Stein (Steve Zissis, “The Intervention”, Silver Bear Winner Berlin Film Festival) decides to break his son down and build him back up, subjecting him to embarrassment and an intense training regimen in hopes of turning him into a skilled and hungry ballplayer.
